What Drives Cost

Belt width and length. Wider belts and longer runs mean more steel, more idler rollers, more belting material, and a larger drive — cost scales with both dimensions, not linearly with either alone.

Configuration. A flat belt for horizontal transfer costs meaningfully less than a troughed, inclined, or cleated design carrying the same product, because the support structure and idler configuration are more complex.

Construction material. Mild steel with epoxy coating is the cost-effective baseline. Stainless steel 304 or 316, or hot-dip galvanised, adds cost proportional to corrosion resistance and hygiene requirement — and this decision should be driven by your product and environment, not defaulted to whichever is cheapest.

Belt material. Food-grade polyurethane, anti-static rubber, and stainless steel mesh all price differently from standard rubber or PVC belting, and the wrong choice here is a false economy if your product or environment requires it.

Drive sizing and control. VFD-controlled drive is standard on ENZAC's range; the drive's power rating scales with belt speed, incline, and loaded capacity.

Installation Scope and Timeline

Belt conveyor installation covers structural mounting and alignment, drive and gearmotor connection, belt tracking and tensioning, and — where relevant — integration with upstream and downstream equipment. Ask for a realistic timeline broken into fabrication, delivery, mechanical installation, drive commissioning, and load testing against your actual throughput target, rather than a single lump-sum estimate.

Confirming Capacity Holds Up on Your Material

A belt conveyor's rated capacity depends on width, speed, configuration, and your material's bulk density and flow characteristics — not width alone. Confirm your supplier has sized the specific belt and drive against your material data and required throughput, and that commissioning includes a load test verifying real-world capacity.
