Ask for a realistic timeline broken into fabrication, delivery, mechanical installation, control commissioning, and load testing against your actual material and throughput target — not a single lump-sum estimate.
Confirming Capacity Holds Up on Your Material
A pneumatic conveying system's rated capacity depends on pipe diameter, distance, and your material's bulk density and particle characteristics — not vacuum source size alone. Confirm your supplier has sized the specific pipe diameter and vacuum capacity against your material data and required throughput at your actual conveying distance, and that commissioning includes a load test verifying real-world capacity.
After-Sales Support to Confirm Before You Sign
- Spare parts — filter media, vacuum pump components, and pipe bend sections (wear points, particularly for abrasive material) are the parts most likely to need replacement. Confirm stock availability and lead time.
- Service and maintenance — scheduled preventive maintenance (filter cleaning system checks, vacuum source servicing, pipework wear inspection) extends service life meaningfully. Confirm response time for a breakdown callout.
- Retrofit and upgrade — for aging systems already on-site, confirm whether a vacuum source upgrade, filter system replacement, or pipework reconditioning is available as an alternative to full replacement.
