A pallet dispenser is sized and configured around the palletizer it feeds and the pallets it's handling — there's no fixed spec sheet independent of those two factors. Here's what actually goes into a working specification.
Pallet Type and Dimensions
Material. Wood, plastic, or metal pallets each have different weight, rigidity, and surface consistency — a dispenser mechanism needs to reliably separate and feed the specific pallet material you're using, and a mechanism that works fine on rigid plastic pallets may not handle wood pallets with more dimensional variation between units as cleanly.
Standard vs custom sizing. Standard pallet dimensions are the simpler case; custom or mixed pallet sizes running through the same line add complexity to both the dispenser mechanism and the downstream palletizer's pattern programming.
Condition consistency. Reused or lower-grade pallets with more damage or dimensional variation are harder for an automated dispenser to feed reliably than consistently new or well-maintained pallets — worth factoring in if your pallet supply isn't tightly controlled.
Throughput Matching
The dispenser's feed rate needs to match — and ideally have margin above — the palletizer's actual consumption rate at your required line speed. A dispenser that can't keep up with the palletizer's cycle time becomes the new bottleneck, just relocated from a manual task to an undersized automated one.
Magazine Capacity
How many pallets the dispenser holds before needing a reload should be sized against your actual production run length and staffing pattern — not maximised by default, since larger magazine capacity adds footprint and cost that only pays off if your operation will actually use the extended unattended runtime.
Integration With Infeed Conveyor and Palletizer
A pallet dispenser doesn't operate in isolation — it needs to hand off pallets to an infeed conveyor that positions them accurately for the palletizer to begin stacking. Positioning accuracy and conveyor speed synchronisation between the dispenser, conveyor, and palletizer are what actually determine whether the automated infeed performs reliably, not the dispenser mechanism alone.
Construction
Dispenser frame and mechanism construction should match your operating environment — standard construction for typical indoor dispatch areas, with more robust or corrosion-resistant construction where the environment calls for it (outdoor-adjacent loading areas, washdown zones, or dusty environments).
