Palletizer selection isn't really about "how automated" — both configurations ENZAC supplies are fully automated. The real decision is whether your operation is a dedicated single-product line or a facility handling multiple lines and product types through a shared end-of-line station.
High-Level Palletizer
Built for dedicated, high-speed operation on a single production line — up to 40 bags per minute, with payload capacity up to 180 kg including the gripper arm. Applicable across bags, pails, gallons, pallets, carton boxes, and tins, with programmable layer patterns and a gripper customised to your specific product.
Best fit: dedicated high-speed single-product lines where consistent, repeatable palletizing at volume is the priority, and where the product type and pallet pattern don't change frequently.
Where it falls short: a high-level palletizer configured for one product and pattern isn't built for frequent switching between very different products or servicing multiple separate lines.
Gantry Palletizer
Built on a configurable robot platform (ABB, FANUC, FUJI, KUKA), with payload capacity up to 300 kg including gripper arm — and a broader application range covering palletizing, de-palletizing, cartoning, and pallet handling. Suitable products extend beyond bags and cartons to drums, tyres, and solar panels, and a single gantry station can serve multiple bagging or filling lines.
Best fit: multi-line or irregular product facilities, where flexibility to handle varied product types and serve more than one production line from a single station matters more than dedicated single-line throughput.
Where it falls short: for a genuinely single-product, high-volume line, a gantry system's flexibility isn't fully utilised relative to a high-level palletizer built specifically for that duty — and dedicated high-level configurations typically achieve higher sustained throughput on their specific product.
Decision Table
| Requirement | High-Level | Gantry |
|---|---|---|
| Dedicated single-product line, high speed | ✓ Best fit (up to 40 bags/min) | Works, but underused flexibility |
| Multiple lines feeding one palletizing station | Not designed for this | ✓ Best fit |
| Varied product types (drums, tyres, solar panels, etc.) | Limited to bag/pail/carton-type products | ✓ Best fit |
| Heavier payload requirement (up to 300 kg) | Limited to 180 kg | ✓ Best fit |
| De-palletizing or cartoning also required | Not typically offered | ✓ Available |
The Decision Depends on Your Line Configuration, Not Just Output Volume
A facility running one product at high volume through a single line should default to a high-level palletizer — it's purpose-built for exactly that duty. A facility running multiple products, multiple lines, or product types beyond standard bags and cartons is usually better served by a gantry system's flexibility, even if peak throughput on any single product is somewhat lower than a dedicated high-level unit would achieve.
