What Drives Cost
Height. Taller elevators (up to 20m on ENZAC's standard range) need more structural steel, a longer belt or chain, and typically a larger motor — cost scales with height more than with any other single variable.
Model size (bucket volume). The DY-2L, DY-4L, and DY-6L models scale in both capacity and cost — larger buckets and the structure to support them cost more, but also move proportionally more material per cycle.
Discharge type. Continuous/gentle discharge elevators typically cost more than centrifugal designs of comparable capacity, because the mechanism needed for guided, low-speed discharge is more complex than simple centrifugal throw.
Construction material. Carbon steel is the cost-effective baseline for buckets and frame; stainless steel 304 adds cost proportional to corrosion resistance and hygiene requirement, and ABS buckets sit at a different price and duty point again.
Motor and drive. Power requirement (0.75–7.5 kW across the range) scales with height, capacity, and material bulk density — an undersized motor won't move rated capacity regardless of everything else being correctly specified.
Installation Scope and Timeline
Installation covers structural mounting and vertical alignment, belt or chain tensioning, drive connection, and boot/head section commissioning including bucket fill verification. Ask for a realistic timeline broken into fabrication, delivery, mechanical installation, drive commissioning, and load testing against your actual material — not a single lump-sum estimate.
Confirming Capacity Holds Up on Your Material
A bucket elevator's rated capacity (1–15 m³/hr across the DY series) depends on bucket volume, belt/chain speed, and your material's bulk density and fill efficiency — not model number alone. Confirm your supplier has sized the specific model against your material data and required throughput, and that commissioning includes a load test verifying real-world capacity at your actual bulk density, not the standard reference density.
After-Sales Support to Confirm Before You Sign
- Spare parts — buckets, belt/chain, and drive components are the parts most likely to need replacement over service life. Confirm stock availability and lead time, particularly for abrasive-material applications.
- Service and maintenance — scheduled preventive maintenance (belt/chain tension checks, bucket condition inspection, bearing lubrication) extends service life meaningfully. Confirm response time for a breakdown callout.
- Retrofit and upgrade — for aging elevators already on-site, confirm whether a drive upgrade, bucket replacement (including switching discharge type), or structural reconditioning is available as an alternative to full replacement.
