A pallet that leaves your dispatch area properly wrapped and stable is a pallet that arrives at its destination the same way it left. A pallet wrapped inconsistently — by hand, by whichever operator is available, under time pressure — is a pallet that might arrive fine, or might arrive with product shifted, damaged, or fallen off entirely. That inconsistency is a real cost even when it doesn't show up on every shipment.
Where Manual Wrapping Breaks Down
Wrap consistency depends on the operator, not the process. Manual wrapping quality varies by who's doing it, how rushed they are, and how tired they are by the end of a shift — there's no standard being enforced except whatever habit each operator has developed.
Film usage is inefficient without pre-stretch control. Manual wrapping typically applies more film than necessary because there's no mechanical pre-stretch happening — that's a real, recurring material cost that compounds across every pallet shipped.
Throughput caps at manual wrapping speed. However fast your palletizing runs, if wrapping is manual, that's the pace your dispatch area actually operates at.
Load stability failures cost more than the product itself. A shifted or collapsed load in transit isn't just product damage — it's potential claims, customer relationship damage, and in some cases a safety incident during transport or unloading.
Where a Pallet Wrapping System Fits
ENZAC supplies three stretch wrapping configurations, each suited to different load types. A turntable wrapper rotates the pallet while the film carriage moves vertically — the standard, cost-effective configuration for stable, moderate-weight loads. A rotary arm wrapper keeps the pallet stationary while a rotating arm applies film — the better choice for heavy or unstable loads where rotating the pallet itself risks shifting product during wrapping. A stretch hood system pulls tubular film over the entire pallet from above — providing full top-to-bottom coverage in a single motion, suited to loads needing maximum weather and dust protection.
Across configurations, ENZAC's systems use LLDPE stretch film at 17–30 micron, with pre-stretch capability up to 300% on electric-carriage models — meaning significantly less film consumed per pallet compared to manual wrapping with no pre-stretch mechanism. Standard pallet size is 1,200 × 1,000mm (customizable), handling loads up to 2,000 kg and heights up to 2,500 mm, at throughput of 30–100 pallets per hour depending on configuration. PLC control with HMI interface allows programmable recipes — different top-wrap, bottom-wrap, and layer-count settings for different pallet configurations — and auto-trigger from the palletizer's PLC signal integrates wrapping directly into your automated end-of-line flow.
Where This Fits in Your End-of-Line Flow
A pallet wrapping system delivers the most value when it's integrated with the palletizer and intralogistics conveyors feeding it — auto-triggered rather than manually initiated, so wrapping becomes a seamless step in automated flow rather than another manual station breaking up the line. If your palletizing is still manual, that's worth addressing alongside or before automating the wrap step.
